What is microneedling?

Microneedling uses fine needles to create micro wounds in the skin, which promotes the production of elastin and collagen at the treated area. Microneedling has been around for decades, many people have experienced the benefits of it in anti-aging, anti-wrinkles, and scar reduction.

How many types of microneedling are there at Waxing House? 

There are 2 types of microneedling: 

– Standard microneedling: using needle pen or needle roller

– Radio frequency microneedling (RF microneedling): using needle combined with radio frequency

❶ What is standard microneedling?

Standard microneedling uses fine needles with pens or rollers to create micro wounds in the skin.

❷ What is RF microneedling?

There have been significant breakthroughs for microneedling, which is called radio frequency microneedling. RF Microneedling uses needles to deliver radiofrequency energy into the dermis. The radio frequency energy heats the dermis, causing better collagen production and tissue tightening. RF microneedling is more effective for firming and reducing wrinkles. RF microneedling is also a better choice for oily skin because it helps to control the excess oil.

Microneedling for anti-aging and firming

Anyone knows that collagen production slows down when people get older. As a result,  people realize more wrinkles, sags, and age spots. Microneedling is an effective treatment for anti-aging and reducing wrinkles without downtime.

As technology improves, microneedling techniques and treatment serums have become more effective. Beauticians apply microneedling together with collagen ampoules during the treatment to enhance the wrinkle reduction and firming effectiveness. Microneedling promotes new collagen generating, but it’s not enough due to the slowing down of the collagen production. The result will be doubled if you add collagen ampoules to the skin daily after the treatment.

Microneedling treatment steps at Waxing House

❶ Step 1: Clean the treated area with sensitive cleanser

❷ Step 2: Apply topical numbing cream and wait for 15-30 minutes

❸ Step 3: Microneedling treatment with Arcaya treatment ampoules

We use microneedle pens or RF Microneedling with Arcaya ampoules depending on skin situation.

• Collagen Plus, Stem cell, Hyaluron: anti-wrinkle, firming
• Cashmere: large pore and scar reduction

The beautician adjusts the suitable needle length and mode based on the skin trouble. 

The micro-needle device is glided 3 times over the entire face.

❹ Step 4: Apply the treatment mask

Specific Korean post-treatment sheet mask is applied to reduce the inflammation and add more nutrition to the treated area. The mask can be used for even irritated skin and after microneedling.

What happens after the microneedling?

After a microneedling session, people may notice slight skin irritation and redness for a few days before the skin heals. 

Post microneedling care instruction

• Do not use cleansing foam for 48 hour as the foam may irritate your skin. You can use a sensitive cleanser or cleansing water after 24 hours.
• MAKEUP should be avoided for 72 hours.
